CUBEX Employee Committee for

Charitable Giving Pilot Program

why_cause

This program is specifically designed for a cross-departmental group of Cubex Employees who voluntarily come together to make an impact in our local community through awarding quarterly Corporate donations, or grants. Our mission is to support our local community through charitable giving to elected non-profits in the Phoenix/Maricopa County area.

effective 01/01/2020

How It Works:

Each quarter, all CUBEX Employees are encouraged to nominate non-profit organization of their choice to the Committee. This nomination will include a written statement by the employee on how this organization can make a difference in our community. Members of the committee will screen the nominated organizations for eligibility and see that they meet the pre-determined requirements that make them eligible for the corporate grant. The committee will meet and discuss the organizations and determine which organization(s) can provide the biggest impact on our local community. The committee ends in a vote and an organization is awarded the grant.

Employee Eligibility and Requirements to Serve on the Employee Advisory Committee:
  • Eligible employees are considered any active part-time or full-time status employee in good standing.
  • Advisory Committee members will be recruited annually, at which point, current seats will be asked to recommit or step down.
  • The position term is 1 year and may be served for consecutive years. Removal from the committee is by request due to circumstances, or termination of employment. Inactivity or failure to meet the eligibility requirements will result in removal from the committee
  • Active participation is expected/required, or their vote and/or seat may be revoked.
  • Members who are serving on the committee are required to disclose potential conflicts of interest. All members are expected to act in an objective and fair manner. In particular, members are expected to refrain from any attempt to gain an unfair advantage for any particular grant applicant. If, in such case, the member will not be permitted to vote for affiliated organization to deter conflicts of interest. If it has been found that there has been deception in this area, the member will be removed from the committee.
Committee Positions:
  • Administration Role: Executes meetings, executes voting procedures, keep meetings on subject, to field questions from the non-committee employees, as well as, committee members.
  • Screener Role: (not a voting role) To screen employee non-profit nominations based on determined criteria.
  • Advisory Role: Provides knowledge and experience from the non-profit sector
  • Committee Chair Role: To take into consideration the details for all eligible organizations that have passed through the screener and determine which one provides the biggest impact on our local community.
Employee Nominations:

  • An organization may only be nominated once per quarter per employee.
  • If a single organization is nominated by multiple employees, it will be noted by the screener and all statements will be included for review.
  • Voting members of the committee are not eligible to nominate organizations.
